As the name suggests, these very narrow aisle forklifts are designed for stacking loads and picking orders in very tight aisles, normally just centimeters wider than the actual machine.
The unique feature of the VNA is the steering method. VNA machines are only steered by the operator outside of the aisle, once the machine is in the aisle it is either wire or laser guided.
Training on the safe and efficient use of Very Narrow Aisle Forklifts is essential and is recommended within the HSE's Approved Code of Practice L117 - Rider Operated Lift Trucks.
We understand that each brand of VNA operates differently. Through our modern course programmes we can tailor the course specifically to you and your team.
Which Very Narrow Aisle Forklifts do you train on?
F1 - VNA - Operator goes up with the machine
F2 - VNA - Operator stays at ground level
What will I get at the end of the course?
Every trainee will receive a nationally recognised and accredited certificate of basic training from either ITSSAR (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register) or BRITTOp (British Register of Industrial Truck Trainers and Operators). We also issue optional photo ID cards with each course.
No, a VNA drives and operates very differently to a counterbalance forklift.
Importantly the stability factors are also very different.
However, you can complete a conversion course from Counterbalance or Reach truck to a VNA which is much shorter in time.
